Ballet Vancouver’s debut season offers a world where tradition meets fearless innovation — where every step engages with a centuries-old legacy. From the grandeur of Swan Lake to the iconic architectural brilliance of George Balanchine’s Apollo, our stage becomes a living archive of classical and neoclassical mastery.

We honor the technique, discipline, and musicality that define ballet’s heritage. Riveting, imaginative ballets by Jorma Elo, Tsai-Hsi Hung, and Yosuke Mino celebrate the power of transformation, breathing new life into beloved classical music works by Bach, Schubert, Prokofiev, Shostakovich & Vivaldi.

The season closes with Joshua Beamish’s narrative ballet, @giselle, a contemporary response to the 19th-century romantic classic. Reframing Giselle through a modern lens, this bold interpretation illustrates the fragility of human connection in the digital age.…
