Recommended 14 & up One hundred years ago, Harry Houdini took his final bow.
On October 23, Calgary's finest magicians gather to mark the centenary of his death; an evening of sleight of hand, illusion and impossible escapes staged in his honour. The night builds to its climax with Dayle Krall, "The Houdini Girl," performing the Water Cell Escape: shackled, inverted and submerged, with only seconds of air and no margin for error.
Houdini died on Hallowe'en, 1926. Some anniversaries are marked with a minute's silence. This one is marked by holding your breath.
A limited number of VIP tickets include general show admission PLUS an intimate close-up performance after the show; a few dozen people, a few feet away, and no escaping the eyes of the audience.
