The Measure of Us What connects us, moves us, and makes us human?

Join the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra and conductor Eve Legault for an afternoon where music, medicine and the human heart meet.

The first half moves from the sparkling energy of Rossini’s The Barber of Seville Overture to Fauré’s luminous Pavane, before Maxime Goulet’s Chocolats symphoniques invites us to experience music through taste, with four movements inspired by caramel, dark chocolate, mint and coffee.

After intermission, cardiac surgeon and pianist Dr. Marc Ruel joins the orchestra for Beethoven’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 5, “Emperor.” Presented in support of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation, The Measure of Us brings together music, medicine and community in support of the future of heart health.
